XTra-Remote Kart Control Modell 2006

In and outdoor

with engine stop

De-Haardt

Xtra Remote Control

With the portable and rechargeable Xtra.Remote Control track operators have full control over their karts and racing lights. Dedicated buttons on the keyboard allow for quick speed adjustments to preset levels for individuals, groups or all karts together. The speed limit can be adjusted easily with step-up and down buttons. The karts engines may be turned off completely. Penalties can be given to crazy drivers. This slows their karts down for some time after which the speed limitation is taken away automatically.

Especially for the mechanics the Xtra.Remote Control shows engine total running time and real time tachometer on the graphical display.

The modernly styled Xtra.Remote Control can be hooked up to a PC so computer programs can control and monitor all activity on the track. New software versions can be simply uploaded without the need to return the unit to the factory

Xtra Transponder

Every kart to be controlled remotely must be equipped with an Xtra.Shutdown Transponder. Assembly is quite simple thanks to the V-shaped bottom
which fits perfectly on both round and square frame tubes.

Controlling may be done through individual kart, group of karts or all karts together. These numbers can be assigned by track operators using the Xtra.Remote Control. Multiple tracks can be controlled fully independently. Split tracks may be (re) combined to one single track with a few clicks on the Xtra.Remote Control.

Because the Xtra.Shutdown Transponder operates without batteries, no charging is required prior to use

Xtra EV Transponder für Elektro Karts

Every Electric kart to be controlled remotely must be equipped with an Xtra.EV Shutdown Transponder. Assembly is quite simple thanks to the V-shaped bottom which fits perfectly on both round and square frame tubes. Controlling may be done through individual kart, group of karts or all karts together. These numbers can be assigned by track operators using the Xtra.Remote Control. Multiple tracks can be controlled fully independently. Split tracks may be (re)combined to one single track with a few clicks on the Xtra.Remote Control.

The Xtra.EV Shutdown transponder is fully configurable by the user and therefore can work with a wide range of motor controllers. Thanks to the high efficiency electronics, the input voltage lies in the range of 10...95V. This exceptional range makes the Xtra.EV Shutdown transponder operate on electric karts using up to 6 series batteries of 12V. During charging of the batteries the Xtra.EV Shutdown transponder can be LOCKED. During the LOCK the Xtra.EV Shutdown transponder does not respond anymore to speed commands coming from the Xtra.Remote Control. This gives extra safety during charging.

The total battery voltage can be read out in real time using of the Xtra.Remote Control.

Use the Xtra.Range Extender-Accesspoint to cover hard-to-reach areas on the track. Hard-to-reach areas may be caused by distance (track size) or by protruding objects like buildings and trees (blind spots) or by interference like power lines running close by.

Because of its forwarding / repeating nature, placing several Xtra.Range Extender-Accesspoints spread evenly over the circuit will maximize reliability.

The unit provides an access point for a personal computer as well. Hook it up through the serial port and control / monitor karts or entire track with computer programs.

There is no need to return the unit to the factory for new software releases, uploading new software from personal computer to Xtra. Range Extender-Accesspoint is easy

The Xtra.Range Extender-Accesspoint is upgradable with an Xtra.Light Control board. This board adds three mains switches and four low-voltage signal inputs to the Xtra.Range Extender-Accesspoint. Hook up green start, red stop and yellow warning lights and control these with an input signal or wirelessly using the Xtra.Remote Control and / or personal computer. With advanced system configuration the signal inputs may be assigned to other functions as well.

Sector Beacon

The Xtra.Sector Control System consists of one or more Xtra.Sector Beacon(s) placed along the track and Xtra.Sector Sensors mounted on every kart.

A rectangle shaped loopwire is placed across the tarmac and attached to the Xtra.Sector Beacon. This loopwire marks the start of the sector. The loop/section number and function can be easily selected on the Xtra.Sector Beacon.

The Xtra.Sector Sensor is connected to the Xtra.Shutdown transponder by means of the kart network port. Once the kart passes the loop, the intelligent Xtra.Sector Sensor processes the function received

Using the Xtra.Sector Control System the speed of karts can be controlled in every section (zone) of the race track. In the case of an accident, the speed of the karts driving inside the dangerous zone is limited automatically. Once the karts are outside the dangerous section, the speed limit is released.

The same system can be used for Pit-In and Pit-out speed control. Once a kart drives into the pit area, the speed is automatically reduced while the other karts on the track retain their normal speed. When a kart exits the pits, the speed is set to normal.

In combination with the Xtra.Driver Information Display, the Xtra.Sector System can be used as Start/Finish line marker for displaying laptimes. For circuits having 2 (or more) tracks which can be combined to one big track, the system can change the Track/Group settings of the Xtra.Shutdown transponder by simply driving a kart through the ‘configuration sector’
